Celebration!

THREE BIG CELEBRATIONS AT THANKSGIVING THIS YEAR!

ONE

I’m walking and fully functioning again – Hallelujah! Leg bones are healed and re-aligned. I was discharged from my orthopedic MD. My concussed brain, although much better, is still scattered at times when I get overloaded and tired. It has been just over 3 months - I have much … much … much … to be grateful for in my recovery.

TWO

Two weeks ago, I felt called to initiate and celebrate this transition into health with a healing ceremony with Cristina, the woman who collided with me, and with a few of our friends. I wrote about this in detail here: COMING FULL CIRCLE

If you haven’t read it, I encourage you to, as it feels like it represents a form of a powerful ritual that I believe many of us are being called to enact in various ways when unrepaired trauma festers in our relationships and gets frozen in symptoms in our energetic bodies. I celebrate how this is an example of an intentional and creative way to rebuild trust and loving connection with Spirit and Soul in broken community. I think about this ritual as a ‘portal’ – an opening cleared for the wealth of God’s loving kindness that lies on the other side of unintentional hurt. Injury that is always occurring through our just-being-humans.

THREE

The next day, Uli was told by a company he has been working with for several years that he must take an immediate trip to ANGOLA! I had previously told him that ‘if and when’ he went there, then ‘you-know-who’ was coming with him!

ANGOLA IS MY BIRTHPLACE, AND I’M COMING HOME!

Imagine the energy and joy I feel ….. (think a hundred happy emojis here) The tickets and initial hotel have been paid for by the company and we have another two weeks to enjoy the land, have a vacation by the ocean (which we had been praying for), and travel up country to visit friends (school classmates of mine) who live there.

Wow – I’ve relished planning this these past days and excited how everything is unfolding. We will be traveling Dec. 2 - Dec. 21. Believe me, I’ll be posting news and photos and whatever emerges here. A shout-out and gratitude to Jay who does this for me with such beautiful creativity!

For those of you that know us, you will also recognize that this is a significant step for Uli’s work as it moves forward from a hidden, stopped-up well of promise and big vision, into a visible reality. Thanks to each of you who have encouraged us along the way as we have stumbled along through these trials and joys of being committed to an alternate reality. It feels like we have been in this liminal journey of faith and adventure for a long time, and it will no doubt continue in its twists and turns, but there’s something about this trip – and ‘coming home’ that seems more than perfectly right, and ‘much more than we could ask or think’.

It’s truly Thanksgiving.
